Re: Possible AF part to retain factory USB!?
While we are at it (figuring out connectors and such), does anyone have any idea about a connector behind the head unit (on the stock, rockford fosgate, non-nav unit) that is not connected from factory and the wiring loom that is also not connected? They don't fit each other either. Is this intended...

Re: Possible AF part to retain factory USB!?
I've just been trying to locate the cheapest way to buy one in Australia. It looks like around $25 delivered - so I might stick with my home made interface. Dang! Why so much?! Is it that Australia tax once again? Would it be cheaper for someone to buy it America then ship it to you or will the Pos...

Re: Osram H7 65w bulbs
Cut from another thread: Did some testing today. Engine idling, low beam on - head light voltage at rear of the bulb= 13.95V ; battery voltage was 14.46V at the same time. For the battery, I've got a Optima Red Top 35, here's the thread: http://www.kizashiclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=261...

Re: Possible AF part to retain factory USB!?
Yep, exactly what I'm looking for.murcod wrote:The normal PC type USB plug will plug into the aftermarket head unit and the custom plug into the factory wiring loom. So you'll be able to use the centre console USB outlet.
Hope this is the part.
Email says it should be here on the 6th.

Re: Osram H7 65w bulbs
Avluis, your alternator output shouldn't be varying that much. I checked the head light voltage on mine a while back (there's a post on here with the details) and it was sitting at 14 odd volts at idle with the head lights on. It was higher at the battery. It might be your battery? I ditched mine a...

Re: Possible AF part to retain factory USB!?
Bump! This ebay post has pictures, it's the older style connector (your second link). Looks close, but is it close enough. Edit: Ok, I am seeing a male and a female version of this plug as well. This is going to be a headache, LOL. But other than that, if you are going aftermarket, then t...

Re: Possible AF part to retain factory USB!?
Taking another quick look at the service manual, I have referenced two distinct names for the connectors. According to the page "USB Harness Inspection", which is under "9 - Body, Cab and Accessories > 9O - Audio Visual / Navigation > Repair Instructions", the connection to the U...

Re: Possible AF part to retain factory USB!?
I recall seeing some kind of connector at the base of the USB port circuit board when I fixed mine. Check out these photos: http://kizashiclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=2663 Also, don't you want a USB female end assuming you are looking to replace the factory USB port? Actually, my goal wi...

Re: Osram H7 65w bulbs
Out of curiosity, can you direct me to the type of capacitors that you are using for your LED kit. I have a small surge issue (high load, etc) and my led kit looks like will need it. These are what I have: http://www.vleds.com/h7-in-line-cap.html However, I'll warn you that at the time I got them, ...
