Most important thing to check is that it has a clutch pedal, you seem to have that under control. If it's right hand drive there was a problem with the clutch pedal box cracking.

The mechanical lock is often stuck after thirteen years of sitting in one spot. You might try shooting some WD-40 into the lock and then try the key again. Best practice is to use the key on the lock once a year to keep it exercised.

Welcome Shogren ! Cranking over fast with no attempt to fire up makes me thing of the timing chain or something to do with that system. Open up the oil fill cap and watch the cam lobes as you crank it over on the starter. If the cam isn't turning then you've got a timing chain problem. Those two cod...

Labor is more expensive than parts. Unless there's something out of the ordinary about the Kizashi, replacing the entire axle assembly usually makes more sense.

Could be a cable that goes up to the roof of the car. Auto headlights probably has a sensor near the rearview mirror.
