Re: Rusted out Kizashi

Wow, that's pretty bad. Sadly, many cars don't seem to last as long in the regions with a lot of snow in the winter due to rust. In the Southwest, cars aren't really subject to much rust so you see older ones running that would have otherwise rusted out a long time ago elsewhere.

Re: Kizashi information

My Kizashi is European from Italy, but the Suzuki manual recommends 0w20 for the same engine, and in the US 5w30. It is most likely due to different standard. 0w20 cites it as the greatest fuel economy. According to the country and climate where I am, I pour on my Kizashi Ravenol 5w30. I will try P...

Re: inexpensive tire pressure monitors that will work

For me, I just don't understand why the Kizashi has such an aggressive TPMS warning. It basically takes over the dash while most other cars have a simple orange light on the dash. Suzuki went far too excessive with the warning.

Re: Kizashi information

Welcome. Different models of the Kizashi have slightly different fuel economy averages but mine: (FWD manual transmission) gets about 20 city and 27 highway miles per gallon on average. For liter/100km it is: 11.7 city and 8.7 highway. As for motor oil, Suzuki specifies 5W-30. I use synthetic motor ...

Re: Advice for My First Car

Unfortunately, it's risky at this point for the reasons Old Tech mentioned. If it's an automatic, it has a transmission called a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that is prone to issues at high mileage due to a design flaw and ill-advised service intervals. While pros like Old Tech can fix t...

Re: inexpensive tire pressure monitors that will work

Great find. Given the markings, do you think these are counterfeit or could these actually be the OE part coming from a Chinese vender sourcing from the OE factory? How do they compare to the originals? I've bought gadgets and such directly from China in the past and came to realize some of the prod...

Re: Very Urgently in need of help 😵‍💫

The vents pull air from outside the windshield near the wiper on the passenger side. There is a filter behind the glove box near the fan to filter the outside air. This is likely the largest cavity in the HVAC system of the car so it might be where a snake would go. I recently saw a video online of...

Re: Manafold dump sounds

Your post and video got me thinking about the engine and Suzuki models that had/have it. It was apparently retired as no global Suzuki product has the J24B anymore. It makes sense given the age of the engine and Suzuki, much like Honda, now favoring smaller displacement turbo engines. It looks like ...

Re: selling parts

Is the totaled car the new one you just got or the older one you had?
