Re: Steering is driving me nuts!!

After what seems like a couple of months sitting on a brand new pair of swaybar bushings, I finally had the time last weekend to lift the car up and do the replacement. Let me just say first that replacing the swaybar bushings in the front is not impossible...you just need some patience :D . The mos...

Re: Steering wheel audio control

suzukicarparts.com is actually a site run by a former Suzuki dealer called Suzuki Depot in Santa Ana, California. That's actually where I bought my Kizashi. They now only sell Kia's (and therefore now called Kia Depot), but they still service Suzuki's and sell parts for them, and they used to be one...

Re: Hose being sawed by engine cover

Huh... No, no work done recently...although the dealer did replace the alternator pulley some 20,000 miles ago and now I'm wondering whether they may have bent it then (it is sort of in that general vicinity). Then again, as far as I can remember it's always been that close to the engine cover, alth...

Hose being sawed by engine cover

I have a bit of an unexpected problem under the hood that I noticed not so long ago and finally managed to take pictures of. Basically, it looks like the engine cover (the plastic with "Suzuki" on it) is slowly sawing its way through the hose (AC?) that runs right next to it. I'm not sure ...

Re: Steering is driving me nuts!!

This definitely sounds like a caster issue, and the squeaks and clunks in the front suspension are some clues as to what happened. Since the dealership can't take the time to do it right, you need to take the tire off and examine the following on the front suspension--sway bar mounts, end links, ti...

Re: Steering is driving me nuts!!

The bushings won't be too hard to remove and replace. Taking the bar out would be a major hassle and probably require the cross-member to come off. Have you verified that the sway bar bushings are at fault? Ever get under the car and look at them? I took photos of mine once while I was changing the...

Re: New rotors? What and where to get them?

Vibration will not be caused by the pads, only the rotors. It can also be caused by bad brake break-in. I did this on my first set of rotors on the big brake upgrade on the Galant. So is the vibration due to the rotors heating up when braking hard as Speed_Racer suggests? And if so, would getting n...

Re: Steering is driving me nuts!!

The "D" bushes? Let me know how you go replacing them, I've had a look and it didn't look like an easy task. Good point... For some reason it looked/sounded easier to me than it might actually be. I had a look at the service manual just last night and it mentioned having to disassemble th...

Re: New rotors? What and where to get them?

I finally got around to taking off the front wheels to check on the brakes, and as far as I can tell the pads still have plenty of life left, and the rotors don't look worn. I also haven't experienced the vibration while braking pretty much since the Yosemite trip, so in the end I'm not sure what th...

Re: Steering is driving me nuts!!

Just as an update, I went ahead and ordered new swaybar bushings to see if they help alleviate the problem. Hopefully they aren't too difficult to replace.

At the very least, hopefully they get rid of the squeaking noise I'm getting in the front of the car on dips in the road.
