Re: Cheap fix 09 belt tensioner
Well it looks like I ended up solving the "rattling tensioner" issue. After all that hassle of wasting $200 on an OEM tensioner that I ended up NOT being able to get on, and a year gone by, I changed the belt and it worked. I had the original belt changed previously when I took the car in ...

Re: Cheap fix 09 belt tensioner
I actually tried that method of prying the tensioner back and forth with the lower bolt removed. Although the tensioner itself moved, the top bolt did NOT move with it. That top bolt is seized and somewhat rounded off. The Harbor Freight box wrench set is identical to the ones you have in the photo....

Re: Cheap fix 09 belt tensioner
My belt tensioner has been making the rattling sound (car in gear or AC on) for at least a couple years now. The entire belt and pully assemblies all visually seem to be rotating nice and smoothly. But a couple years ago I was able get the wheel and well-panel off to narrow in on the noise and I det...

Re: The Kizashi Spotting Thread!
LOL...I saw this thread and totally forgot about a photo I took last summer. So there is a white Kizashi on the right side of the photo that was abandoned on the side of the road where there is a right-hand turn lane. That wouldn't happen to be a cemetery in the grassy patch behind the broken down ...

Re: Kizashi second thoughts.. buyer's remorse.
I don't know. Bought mine new in 2010. Have never changed the CVT oil or whatever. But I still have my Kiz today, over 100K miles, and the CVT transmission still runs perfectly smooth as the day I bought it. But I've always driven the vehicle pretty easy ever since I bought it. Never romped on the a...

Re: 114 Days: Pt III (3rd time's a charm)
No, haven't fixed noises yet. I'll try the WD-40 fix at some point when I get time and feel like lying down on my garage floor. Despite the clunks, still love the ol' Kiz!!!!!!!!!!!! But for now, still driving the Kiz to work and it's runnin' just fine

Re: 114 Days: Pt III (3rd time's a charm)
The clunks are completely gone now. I did the work myself. Total cost was about 7.00 dollars and a few good sprays of WD-40. I might jack the rear up today and try this. Clunking only occurs in cold weather, rear drivers side. I replaced sway bar link by myself, but after that effort, didn't help. ...

Re: 114 Days: Pt III (3rd time's a charm)
I think maybe 3 or 4 years ago, I went out of town on business and drove a Toyota Avalon rental. Leather seats, very nice. When I flew back home and got into my Kizashi at the airport, it still felt better to sit in than the Avalon. I've driven everything from Maximas, Malibus, Sonatas, Rogues, Camr...
