But do you think that the whining sound will go away, I know the question is difficult to answer until and unless you inspect the vehicle physically... But from a Mechanic's perspective why it could be making that sound still ( even though the intensity of the sound has lessened) and could it go away on its own ?

Help CVT is making sounds
I don’t think you’ve hurt anything and have caught it fast enough. Long term this would have destroyed the transmission. I think you’ve caught it soon enough. It is a good plan on changing out the fluids multiple times to get it cleaned out. The noise will return to normal as this fluid gets changed. For flushing purposes, I would try to use the cheapest CVT fluid I could find, but even that’s not very cheap.
