ESL override cheap fix 21

With the age and miles of most Kizashi's it's no surprise that we are seeing more and more faults with this magic" made in China " box. While a new replacement box is still available, it's not cheap and to do this completely correct , the removal of the steering column is necessary to extract and reinstall the tamper resistant bolts. Some owners are purchasing the new Esl and zip tying under dash after unplugging the defective one while in the unlocked position to avoid the 2.5 hours of labor adding to the $400 -$500 for the new box. A used box can not be remarried into the system. While it has to be possible to virginize a used ESL box , I don't know anyone doing this. To this date I know of no emulator available that would work on the Kizashi . In most cases of current ownership the customer usually wants a cheap way out and just wants to know the car will start and can be trusted. A warning icon on the dash is probably acceptable at this point . I've been offering this sure fire fix. This will leave the " wiggle the steering wheel " message until you do the dance of opening the door and cycling the start stop again but at least you can get to work on time or your wife and child are not stuck at the mall in a rainstorm. I suggest wiring in a momentary push button switch . A nice mounting place for it is the coin box just left of the steering wheel. The keyless start / TPMs module is conveniently just behind it with fairly easy access to brake light and starter command circuits. Here are pictures of my red push button switch mounting place . The toggle switches on my car are for other bypasses and are not related to this override.
The next picture is showing what wires you need to T into. Small connector lowest pin firewall side violet/ white stripe .(starter command). Largest middle connector 3 up from bottom on firewall side ( power with brake pedal pushed) green / white stripe .
A cheap low amp push button switch can be purchased from eBay or robbed from anything . This bypass is utilizing the starter relay still so there is very little current .
