I realized I never rotated my snows.
I realized it this morning as I passed 90.......

Last night the muddy roads were all sloshy.
This morning they were frozen hard, allowing high speeds, lurid slides, and an enormous dust cloud behind me........

But but but I need those to protect my delicate bottom (blush).

I'm still trying to figure out how to (get away with) buy a set of lightweight (18X8" 18.7lb Fujin; yes I know its the same wheel I bought in 17") wheels with a 23lb 'summer' tire (anything other than a snow tire is considered a 'summer tire' here).
I'd still save 12lb per corner.......and maintain the superior handling benefit of that fat low sidewall......

'If I buy summers for my 17's I'll save between 15--16lb per corner.
I am NOT giving up the measureable change in acceleration and wheel control that diet provides.
Yeah.

That $1,700 could buy a decent vacation, too.

We chatted; between paying off the hospital bills and saving for vacations we decided not to buy another set of wheels and tires at this time.

Unless, of course, I shake the money tree hard enough..........

Last tanks varied brands 27.0 MPG.

So....

....the mud, in spots, looks like snow slush, but acts even worse. Steering can disappear in seconds; braking down hill can be non-existent; accelerating can have you slewing wildly.

I've been being way more careful about bottom-scraping, picking my spots at lower speeds to ensure accurate wheel placement.

And like snow, mud gets in the wheels, causing radical imbalances.

Last few tanks 27.0; last tank 27.3 MPG.
Obviously due to warmer temps.

Gas mileage continues to suffer; throttle application.......

........the pounding, however, never ceases.
