Hey guys,

Probably a dumb question, but do you fellas with the manual trans kizashi have a soft rev limiter like in this video? In the CVT's we have this, just curious to see if M/T's got a meaner sounding "hard-cut" rev limiter haha

MT's don't have a rev limiter. We can gloriously shift wherever we please as high as we please!

Yes, a couple years ago I had a Garbage truck turn towards me and I hit the gas in a panic to get out of the way. I saw the tach get into the red zone. With a rev limiter I might be a red spot on the road.

Nope, no rev limiter. However, I've only bounced off the redline once so far.

Not sure if no rev limiter on the MT is correct. I think it's just higher (6500) than the CVT (6000) which accounts for the extra horses that are spec'd on the MT. I think it's a soft rev limiter so it does not act like a wall but you can't rev unlimited either. Suzuki would have to replace too many blown engines if there was no rev limit. The rev limiter caps top speed at 130 MPH as well.

I'm with you LPSISRL. My 89 Metro had a rev limiter in the engine computer, and it barely had enough power to free rev up high enough to trigger it.. I can't imagine that any manufacturer would not include that. It costs them nothing to add a couple of lines of code to the millions already in there.

I did see my tach go into the red zone. I was afraid that I had done engine damage but that was 40,000 miles ago.
