As the title suggests. Cold engine idles at ~1500rpm and then it settles down to 600-500rpm, has almost stalled on me a couple of times.

Any help is appreciated.

The usual suspects are sparkplugs, throttle body and MAF sensor. Have you inspected them and cleaned them?

It has started to stall out now, does not idle. Need to press throttle to keep the engine running.

Yes, I'm gonna take a look at the throttle body and maf sensor.

Good start. I had a similar issue a while back where the idle stalled out at times and I had to rev to keep it going. I cleaned the MAF and the Throttle Body (make sure to disconnect the harness and the battery). The cleaning resolved the issue. Make sure to use the appropriate cleaning products for these components.

I've got the throttle body, sparkplugs and maf checked. Also replaced the valve cover gasket as it was leaking. Still idles around 600rpm and mechanic says since it has an electronic throttle body, idle can't be adjusted. What does your car idle at?

When my manual transmission Kizashi is at normal operating temperature, it idles at 600 RPM. I believe that is normal.

Yeah, then I believe my MT also idles fine. The engine vibrates though, so i think I need to look into the motor mounts.
