That is NOT what it says, at all. After you are a buffoon and force it out of park without depressing the brake pedal, breaking the interlock, then you will be able to shift it out of park without depressing the brake pedal. Nothing about it moving by itself is mentioned.

If broken, it will be exactly the same as all cars were twenty years ago. Many of us survived those perilous years.

Strange. I updated our address with Suzuki soon after we bought the car and we haven't gotten this or the spider recall bulletins.

After I got my recall notice, I made an appointment to get Azumi looked at not so much because I'm worried about my car shifting out of park but because I re-read my warranty info recently. I found out that one of the warranties I purchased with Azumi covers alloy wheel repair, which is good for Azumi since I scraped up one of my wheels some time ago. Besides the big scrape on one of the rims, they all have a bit of blotching where the finish has come off.

So hopefully, I'll be able to get the recall work done and get her rims dressed up in one go. Unfortunately, this recall also affects other Suzukies. So a bunch of other Suzuki vehicles are clogging up the dealership's service department, and I had to schedule my appointment for the end of March, basically like 6 weeks in advanced.

I just went to have the Kizashi oil changed at the dealership.
When the work order was being written they told me that my Kizashi had a recall for the "shifting out of park" issue. I told them I was aware of the recall and did not want it done.
This is what was on the invoice:
CUSTOMER AWARE OF VL RECALL AND DOESNT WANT PERFORMED
CS WILL RESCHEDULE

I guess they have to put this in writing to cover them incase my car jumps out of park and runs amuck. I can most definitely tell you that this customer is never going to reschedule the VL recall.

As a side note, it troubles me to no end to have such a simple thing as an oil change done at the dealership but I'm afraid I just don't trust my Kizashi is going to be a trouble free car so I decided when I bought it I was going to have the dealer perform all maintenance on it and follow the maintenance schedule in the owners manual. It is very hard for a dealer to deny warranty work when they were the only ones to have worked on the car. So far its 28000 miles have been trouble free, well except for the crappy brakes.

What have you run across on the brakes? Mine aren't the show stoppers that my Porsche or Altima are, but they're no slouch either.

Altima brakes in the same category as the Porsche? What do you have on it?

Nothing wrong with the brakes for normal use but the small rear disc size combined rear brake bias and OEM pad choice equals trouble for spirited or mountain driving.
I've just replaced the stock pads with EBC Green pads. In normal driving I can feel an improvement and I hope that when I really push them they will perform better than the stock pads that were crumbling away from the heat they could not handle.

Bone stock factory 4-wheel abs. The brakes were very over-engineered for the application. No one except one person even did a big-brake upgrade on the first or second gen.

I didn't even realize how good they were until I got all the other cars and the Porsche. :o

Ahh yes, canyon carving. Good to know we've got some easy upgrades.

Have you changed the lines to stainless steel and the brake fluid to something more high-performance?

I changed the brake fluid but left the stock lines on. When I changed to metal lines on my motorcycles I didn't think the feel and performance was worth doing for my Kizashi.
