KuroNekko wrote:That's true. I'm going to see if my superglue fix resolves the durability issue and then probably use a USB extension cable as I have an unused one in my office that came with a flash drive. The only bad thing is that it will create more cable clutter in the console box. I already have two cables in there.
You know, I wonder if you could use a usb hub. You know, the ones with that 6" long cable. They suck as usb hub cables, but might be exactly what you need to help with the clutter and solve any issues at the same time. 8-)

This is what I had in mind:

Anyone try this in a CVT yet. It happened in mine, so I'm eventually going to try to put it back.

This may be an aside but, does anyone have connection issues with the usb? I've tried literally dozens of different cables (new and old) yet sometimes it gives me either error 2 or error 3. I'll disconnect the device from the car usb connector, re connect, works for a little and then gives me the error again.

Not to mention I recently got rid of my iPhone and it seems as micro usb style cable (usually android devices) does nothing other than charge, no media use at all.

I had error issues with one particular iPod of mine. I assumed it was iPod related and not cable or connection related.

I never figured out what was going on - I now stream all my music over Bluetooth.

It really does sound like the Kizashi's audio system prefers Apple iPods and iPhones.
I have an iPod Touch 3rd gen, an iPod Nano 6th gen, and an iPhone 5S which all work great with the USB port. I've also had it connected with an iPhone 5, iPod Nano 3rd gen, and an iPhone 6 with no issues. The Apple devices with Bluetooth also connect perfectly for phone and audio streaming connections.
I've had error messages before but they are very rare. Probably about 3 times total since I've owned the car.

Interesting, as mentioned I've tried multiple cables and even multiple other apple products (iphones/ipods) It's gotten to the point where I'm considering buying an fm transmitter because of its failure of use and that I now have a galaxy as well. That or does anyone know how to reactive the xm in the car?

Never tried a cable connection, the Bluetooth works brilliantly. The first USB thumb drive I tried worked fine and I've just continued using the same one ever since.
