US Kizashi Specs Comparison Year to Year
Very interesting to see how dramatically the model lineup changed each year.
So basically, if I want a stick-shift Kizashi with all the bells and whistles, it has to be a 2010. That's good to know. A little frustrating, but good to know.
Does anyone have any godly idea why they made the S package for the 2012 model Kizashi's the only option for a stick shift?

That's not true. Members here have '11 and '12 SLS models with manuals. A '11 and '12 SLS would be the Kizashi Sport and arguably better than a 2010 non-Sport model. I have a 2011 Sport GTS and have everything I want (RF stereo, power driver seat, moonroof, 18 inch Sport wheels, etc.) 2012 and 2013 started deleting things like the moonroof and power seat making them options in the GTS. They even offered leather in the GTS as a package if I'm not mistaken. That was not available in 2011.KansasKid wrote:So basically, if I want a stick-shift Kizashi with all the bells and whistles, it has to be a 2010. That's good to know. It's my understanding that it's MY 2013 that made the base S the only stick shift model. This is because the Kizashi, like any comparable midsize, sells in very low numbers as manuals. The Camry, Altima, Fusion, 200, and a few others offer absolutely no manual transmission at all now. The Kizashi was actually a rare car in that it offered top-level trims with the manual transmission even though it was demoted to just the S in 2013 before Suzuki gave up entirely in the US.

Yeah, as a late bloomer into automotive enthusiasm, it's been pretty painful watching the decline of stick-shifters. I feel like I missed the boat sometimes. I've known for sometime that you couldn't even rent a car with a manual from Enterprise. And I'm pretty sure they have a knack for picking up the base models of vehicles for their fleet.

Fear not, though. Some of the best manual cars ever made were made back in what I call 'the golden era' of US Japanese cars--the early to mid-1990s. Fun Subarus, Nissans, and Hondas can be picked up for a song right now even in enthusiast condition.
There's always the FRS/BRZ. My god the shifter in it is absolutely amazingKansasKid wrote:Yeah, as a late bloomer into automotive enthusiasm, it's been pretty painful watching the decline of stick-shifters.
