Here is the latest update. I took the information that Woodie provided and tried to unplug following the wire to its end. I reset it and got in the car and same as ever.
Next I took the sensor out of the pipe and cleaned it off and reinserted and the service engine light is gone. Went on a 30 mile errand and all is still good.
I cannot thank everyone enough for taking the time to respond and offering help.
If the problem reoccurs i will replace but in the meantime I will monitor.(Rock Auto Baby!!
