I wonder which size is better for a "lowered"appereance:

- 245 reduce the gap between tyre and the wheel arch but increase the car height.
- 225 reduce the car height but increase the gap between tyre and arch.

¿What do you think?

245/45 sidewall is 9mm taller than 225/45 so I don't think there is a huge gain to be made by going for the narrower tyres (which would also increase the risk of rim damage  ) The sizes are also only about 5mm smaller or larger (depending which way you go) than the stock 235/45.
I went to 20x9 inch rims, 35 offset with 245/30 on them and that reduced the sidewall by 32mm and made the overall tyre height 14mm smaller but the whole combination fills out the wheel well much better than stock.
I also installed the H&R lowering springs to drop the car 40mm all round.
Ride quality has suffered a bit as a result because there is less rubber to absorb the bumps but I can live with it. :drive:
