If your battery isn't maintenance free I'd definitely suggest relocating the ballasts. The cells on mine were over filled by the dealer which resulted in acid overflowing out the caps when it was charging. It makes a nice mess of anything the acid lands on- even on the under side of the bonnet.

are these the bulbs you are using for the high beams?
do they have 2 brightness settings for high beams and drls?
