Colour: Midnight Black.

Purchased it last year and the previous owner really did a number on it. Condition to start was a buffet of rids, swirls, buffer trails, chips, etc. The paint finished beautifully and really popped when all was said and done. The pictures will say a lot more than I can!

80,000 KM or 50,000 Miles.

The detailing and Opticoat really brought it back to life and the water sheeting is amazing. Never have to wax again :)

$600 for the full detailing and application of Opticoat. Not sure how much the detailer got it for.

Very nice.

I've seen before-and-afters of Opti-Coat on other cars and the product is quite amazing. I've basically read it described as a second clear coat.

Opti-Coat now sells a DIY kit, but it differs from the professional one.

KizFan2,
How did you find someone to do an Opti-Coat application?

I managed to find a good detailer in my area via some local car forums. It turns out he applies Opticoat and cquartz finest. cquartz looks really good but it is not permanent.

You may have to call around to some local shops and see if anyone does it.

Yes, paint protection has come a long way since I had some bad experiences in the late 1980's and early 1990's. I think our XL-7 might have had it put on by a previous owner (because I've barely touched the paint in the five years we've owned it and it's still in very good condition.)

For anyone that is going to opticoat their car, make sure you pick up a bottle of Opti instant detailer. I used this after my last wash and I must say that the shine increased ten fold. Well worth the $8.
