David... how the heck did you figure these out?
LOL
Thankfully I'm not getting much rattles (anymore...). Only the occasional buzz somewhere from the dash. I can live with that.

I've been chasing a rattle over sharp bumps in the front end for 12mths- I think I might have finally nailed it. While doing other work (eg. fitting the Sport grille) I now look at everything in the area to see what potentially rattles.
I discovered something in the interior today - front passenger side footwell there is a cover at the bottom of the dash held on by two screws at the front (you might need to remove the glove box to see/ access them.) The rear of that panel rattles when tapped by hand due to it being "secured" at the rear by two round rubber extension pieces that loosely locate into two plastic holes. Some extra stick-on foam on the rubber extension makes them an interference fit and eliminates the rattling.
I have to say that the Kizashi now "feels" (sounds) a lot more solid over Adelaide's bumpy roads.

1 or 2 click sounds when backing up and stepping on the brake: anti rattling clips replaced for free under warranty for the first time, second time they said the car is over 20000 km so the warranty is over, been told I dont have to replace them since they don't pose any safety issue.
Abnormal rock chips near the lower rear door edges: repainted under warrty....but pretty poor paint job.
Squeaky rear suspension: dealership couldn't find any problems with the suspension, they tried lubricating it but the squeaky sound is still there. One day the sound just went away and never heard of it again.....
Excessive cranking at start up: car is at 2 yrs and half with 47000 km, only happened 3 times, didn't bother to take it into the shop cus all they will say is I need to duplicate the problem on the spot or they can't fix it
Abnormal tread wear: with car at 47000 km, most likely they are not going to cover it, going to buy a new set of tires next spring

Have a read of the technical bulletin just posted here: http://www.kizashiclub.com/forum/viewto ... 674#p20674 specifically the rear shock absorber one. It relates to the same area and symptoms.CLLee wrote: 2/ Squeaky/Rattling suspension from the rear (around 50,000km)
Symptoms:
1. Squeaking/rattling coming from the rear going over speed bumps and rough roads.
2. Seems to get worse gradually over time.
3. Sound is more direct from inside than the outside.
4. In my case, isolated to only when the rear LH wheel.
Cause and repair:
Rubber seal in the top mount of the shock absorber is a bit dry and has some grit around it. Found to still be in good condition.
Cleaned up the seal and lubricated it.

Hope this is helpful.

David, what exactly did your use to lubricate the shock's bump-stop bushing?

So far....
- an alignment... steering wheel still off center. Re-aligned. Again. Better.
- one of the roof rack plugs blew out on the highway. replaced. Has happened again. same one.
- the A/C is weak. Dealer says it's acceptable.
- there seems to be vertical play in the hood (at the latch) when it's closed. Adjusted. Not much better.
- smelled coolant twice. smell coolant all the time, dealer says normal for this type of system
- material is poorly attached to both A pillars. parts in, not yet installed.
- turning the A/C off kills the power to the ipod dock. dealer able to replicate, Suzuki has no solution...
- excessive cranking on start up. ECM flashed. hasn't happened again

Seems like you need to find a new dealer? The aircon in mine works extremely well - even in temperature over 40 degrees C. Perhaps try taking it elsewhere (an aircon specialist) for a written evaluation?DWenz wrote:

The hood should be a simple fix by winding up the rubber bump stops that support the closed hood. They're threaded and can be screwed up/ down to keep the hood tensioned when closed.

Do you have window tinting? It helps a lot.
Same here, dont find the Kizashi's aircond noticeably weaker.
If anyone in Melbourne is looking for a good dealer service, I've just moved to Silverstone Volvo/Suzuki in Doncaster (mod, please delete if I'm not supposed to promote businesses).
Can't fault them... took the trouble to listen to me, and dedicated in solving my repairs.
