That's really cool! I'll have to check it out myself. Thanks for the tip!! Cheers!KuroNekko wrote:Yeah, I learned about it here on the forum too.SamirD wrote:Cool. I'm going to have to see that menu. I don't remember reading about it in the manual.
You can change Fahrenheit to Celsius, Miles to Kilometers, MPG to l/100km, etc.
You can also set the footwell lights to come on with the headlights, etc.
Pretty cool stuff.
Average fuel economy
I played with this the other day--pretty neat.
I reset my mileage, and the car is saying 12.9 avg right now. And it keeps going up.
Plus, the range stays pretty high compared to when I left the car on waiting for my wife.
It's really surprising the car uses that much fuel idling. The only thing I can think of is that it is tuned lean and needs to dump extra fuel to keep the combustion temperatures in the proper range.

Update.
It looks like the idling was only part of the picture. There must have been some brake dragging going on that was not only causing noise, but also robbing mpg. (This went away when I switched to the snow tires and torqued the lug nuts to spec.) It now averages a solid 20 (based on in-dash) for city tanks, and it gave me almost 30 for a reent 1000mi all-highway trip. I'm definitely okay with it.
