Forgot to mention that since the weather has warmed up, this issue-thing-phenom is not at all noticeable.

For me, the car runs better when it's cold.

If what Ray Suzuki says is correct, then it's going to be changes in MAF, the cats or the O2 sensors for me. Whatever, nothing I'm going to worry about until when/if a CEL light is set.
I'd check to see if the replacement filter is seated perfectly. I plan to check over the whole airbox assembly when I get a chance to see if there's air coming in from anywhere or a not perfect connection.

It is really annoying that it does this. I've never had an issue like this on any other of my Japanese cars. :(

Interesting that it got better with the K&N. Have you checked all the couplings and such and double-checked the filter seating in the airbox?

:?

So much for any consistency that could help pinpoint the issue.

The filter fits perfectly. I really think it's an issue with programing but I'm pretty sure it's supposed to work like this despite its annoyance. CVT thing I guess.

I wonder if the fact that when shifted to neutral and coming to a stop, this does not occur. Again, makes me think it has something to do with the cvt.

Not sure but I'd assume it could be fixed with some type of reprogramming. I can live with it for what I paid although it is annoying.
