Only one place anywhere near where I live has the option to get WRG3's, but it's still about 16 miles away from where I live AND I'm still going to have to special order them. Coincidentally, it's about 2 blocks away from where I purchased Azumi.
Since the WRG's don't fit the stock rims on my Kizashi, I'm considering getting a new set. Which rim's did you go with for your WRG3's?

I guess if you have the money to buy new rims and tires then that works too. I stuck with the 18" wheels that came with my SLS. OEM tire size is 235/45r18, but I ended up going for a smaller tire 225/45r18 with 95v XL load. Keep in mind if you do this your actual speed may be 1 mph lesser than what's showing on your odometer because the tire is a bit smaller. So if your Odometer says you're doing 40mph, then youre probably going 39mph.
For me I thought about it and it worked out well going with a smaller size and the thing is the size difference isnt noticeable at all. If you have a discount tire store or Big o tire they could order it for you directly from Nokian. I paid $772 out the door without the discount tire warranty. I think that was a good deal for tires I can drive all 4 seasons without worry and that perform better than all season tires in my opinion and according to alot of independant reports online as well.
Ok, that makes more sense. I was getting the tire width confused with the height again. Thanks for clearing that up. That makes me feel a lot better knowing I don't need to get new rims. Thanks!
I'm gonna call the Discount Tire here in KC and see if I can get them to order me some 245/45/R18's. I was also looking into WRG2's hoping that they'd be a cheaper, but they aren't really.

Yeah 245/45r18 will work as well. Keep in mind those are a bit bigger so if your odometer says your doing 40mph then youre real speed is probably 41-42mph. As for wrg2's they were great tires. People ravrd about their winter capabilities but they werent great during summer. Nokian improd that with the WRG3. Discount tire got my tires in store in 3 days. Good luck keep us up to date. Get them to match or beat any online price that you find cheaper. They will probably quote you $250 per tire for that size.. look online and you can find it for way less and get them to match or tell them you'll go to Big O tiresKansasKid wrote:Ok, that makes more sense. From what I've seen in my Kizashi (speedo reads low with stock tyres), 245/45R18 should make the speedo read closer to the real speed.
It should look good with that size- a bit wider to fill out the guards and the taller tyre should make it appear "lowered" (as they'll sit higher into the guards.)

It has been below zero as low as -10 today here lots of ice and snow on the ground especially in the suburban areas . I parked the Kizashi on a patch of ice covered in snow to see if I can startup and drive off without an issues, and as I anticipated there were no problems at all. It felt as if I was on dry pavement.

That was exactly my thinking. Look better, a tad more ground clearance, and make the speedo/odo closer to the truth. I'm very happy with my choice, although I haven't driven them in snow yet, that's really the only downside to wider tires.murcod wrote:From what I've seen in my Kizashi (speedo reads low with stock tyres), 245/45R18 should make the speedo read closer to the real speed.

If price isnt an issue then I would say the 245/45r18 is perfect for the reason you mentioned, however youre going to be looking at about 25% increase in price for that size tire as opposed to the 225/45r18 size. I personally dint want to spend $1k or higher for 1 set of tires because for that price I probably could buy 2 sets of tires(1 dedicated winter and 1 dedicated summer). For me a $772 out the door for the Nokian WRG3 was pretty reasonable for the 225 size. They quoted me if I recall, $1100 out the door at discount tire and that was without the $20 per tire insurance for the 245 size. I didnt see the value when I am on a budget in getting the same tire that's only 18mm diameter difference for $300 or so price increase. Thats just me sticking with my budget. If I didnt have a budget I would've gone with the 245/45r18.Woodie wrote:That was exactly my thinking. Look better, a tad more ground clearance, and make the speedo/odo closer to the truth. So far, the cheapest place that I've been able to find some of the WRG3's was a set of 4 on eBay for $900 ($225 each). And it's not that easy to find any Nokian tires anywhere in the U.S. I had no idea that 20 mm difference or 1 inch difference in the radius could have such a dramatic effect on the cost of a tire. After seeing that I can get the 225/45R18's for quite a bit cheaper, I'll probably go that route as well. Besides the cost of equipment and labor, I'm going to have to get the alignment adjusted again as well. So I should try to cut costs as much as possible.yoshi2012 wrote: If price isnt an issue then I would say the 245/45r18 is perfect, howevrr youre going to be looking at about 25% increase in price for that size tire as opposed to the 225/45r18 size. I found on the SimpleTire site selling them for $200.99 per tire for the 225/45r18 95v XL.Discount tire matched their price. They also gave me $50 per tire credit for my Westlake SA07 tires which were brand new, so that really helped. KansasKid.. if the its too hard to find or too much trouble then maybe go with Michelin, Bridgestone or Continental tires.KansasKid wrote:So far, the cheapest place that I've been able to find some of the WRG3's was a set of 4 on eBay for $900 ($225 each).
