I've really struggled with what to about wheels and tires, important since winter --and snow-- will be here soon.
Then there's that unsprung weight issue; the OEM 18" wheel weighs 28lb!

So after much anguish I've decide the best answer is a Enkei Tuning Fujin sized 17X7.5", weight 16.6lb. I'm getting 'silver'.
When they come they'll wear 225/50 R17 studded Goodyears. Sensors in each wheel, mounted and balanced (TireRack.com).
Come summertime I'll have many high-quality lighter-weight tire options, and still be close to the size of the OEM 235/45 R18.

Man I like drivin' this thing.
Last tank just under 26MPG.

I did notice the rims were rather weighty when lugging the around to get painted. It's crazy just by changing rims you can drop the weight almost 50lbs between the corners.

Actually, here's the math:

OEM wheel 18X8" 28lb
OEM Dunlop tire 235/45 R18 26lb

Enkei Tuning
Fujin 17X17.5" 16.8lb

Goodyear UltraGrip Winter studded 225/50 R17 24lb
Dunlop Signature II 225/50 R17 21lb
alternative choice Hankook Ventus S1 Noble2 22lb

Even with the snows I'll drop 13lb per corner, and summertime will bring a 16lb per drop!
I lose one inch of tread and .4" or about 10--15 revs per mile vs stock, both summer and winter tires. Not enough to matter (I hope).

I finally got my tires to scream on an on ramp. Was doing 40-45 on a suggested 25 curve.

Edit: should note I am not on performance tires by any means. Eagle LS2s. I'll get some performance tires when these run out of life as I plan to get winter tires this coming season.

I have LS2s also and I hate them. They squeal in roundabouts all the time even though the car doesn't even feel close to stepping out of line. I'm not waiting for them to run out of life, LOL. They're gone once the winter tires go on.

The Kumhos continue to surprise and please me with their astounding level of dry grip; not bad in the wet, either.

TPMS light came on this morning, and I thought it was because it was cold (I ALWAYS eye-ball all four tires before entering my Kizashi).
But just to be certain I stopped and checked and found all four at 32 PSI.
I'll be fixin' that the next time I drive it (I think we have air here at my dealership).

Last tank Gulf premium 27.8 MPG

I just did the math; I'm averaging 125 miles per day of ownership.
Total Kizashi miles 8-) exceeds 172K.......
