What Did You Do With Your Kizashi Today?

Anything related to the Kizashi can go here, but please look at the other headings first. Your topic may fit better under something else.

21psi??? Isn't that a little high? Then again, I'm not really knowledgeable about turbos. Hopefully, the internals can take it.

I think 250-300hp would be perfect for me. Lol

Looking forward to your guide! How many miles and what was the pad life like?
The car has about 46,000 miles. The pads had about 35~40% left for the fronts and probably about 45% for the rears. The main reason I overhauled the brakes was because my rotors were warped. The OE rotors also had some corrosion in the inside and outer edge and was a bit flaky.

May I ask you to post a side view picture with the slotted rotors?

Thanks. :)
I will soon. However, I have the OE wheels that do a good job hiding the slots of the rotors so they aren't that noticeable. It's a pity but I got the slotted rotors for the performance, not aesthetics. Drilled rotors are better for aesthetics anyway.

I noticed this too.... I got my slotted rotors installed. So far the brakes are very good. I haven't used the brakes aggressively yet. I'll let them bed in for a few hundred miles. I didn't follow the bedding procedure though. I will post a pic in my brake thread when I get a chance.

Why not? I always notice improvement after the break-in procedure after the cool-down. It's quite important for brake and rotor life.
Here's the procedure I followed given this company made the brake pads I installed.

I am sorry. I meant to say I DID follow the brake in procedure. Autocorrect decided to make me look like an idiot again. Haha. Yes it was easy to follow the procedure. :)

Oh, haha.
Yeah, I did read that it takes a few hundred miles for the resin to properly cure and the break-in process to be completely done. After that, the brakes may become even more effective.

I'm curious to see about brake dust with these new pads and rotors. My car is currently dirty and the wheels were dirty before the brake job, but it does look like there's more brake dust than normal since the brake job.

There will definitely be extra brake dust at first as the pads bed. I have noticed this too so far. I expect the amount of dust will diminish after the first few hundred miles. But that also depends on the pads. The pads I used before on my rear brakes were Wagner thermo quiet (I think that's what they were called) and I never noticed any dust. They did squeak under light braking after they bedded in though, which I thought was funny. (Quiet, yeah right). They were only like $10 on rock auto.

I drove my 2010 Kizashi GTS that I've owned for just about 5 years home from the airport.

Why am I writing this? I felt compelled, because when traveling for work, I always get a rental car at the city I travel to. I've driven many types of rentals, and then fly back home to my Kizashi that's been sitting in the airport parking lot waiting for me. I always like my Kizashi better than the rental car I had driven during the week.

Well this week, I drove a 2015 Toyota AVALON. Nice car, lots of power that surprised me actually. Leather seats. Great stereo system. Very light steering, easy to drive, and rather comfortable. Not plush, but comfortable. HOWEVER, when I got back in town and jumped into my Kizashi to drive home from the airport, I didn't feel like I was getting into a piece of crap compared to the Avalon. Yea sure, if both cars were free, I'd take the Avalon over the Kiz.....but my Kiz fits like a glove, is quiet, good ride, nice Rockford stereo, PLUS has AWD of which the Avalon didn't. (snow).

I still appreciate my Kiz. When I owned a Toyota Camry years ago that I bought brand new, it was a piece of crap to me within a few years and I wanted to get rid of it. Not the Kiz. It might be a Suzuki of which no longer exist as a USA market car manufacturer, but I really do think they built something that is comparable to the entry level BMW/Mercedes at that time. I still like it after 5 years.

Well,I did something "for" my Kizashi today. Ordered the Dr.Colorchip touch up kit. The chips on my hood are annoying me.

Ooh, report how it works. I've had my eye Dr Colorchip for touching up my paint chips but haven't pulled the trigger yet.
