Kizashi Remote Start

well i paid 200 but this is my guy dealer was asking 800 ..also you only supposed to get 2 keys when you buy the car i bought the extra one because i wanted the extra key..also you only need a key not the remote and it has to be programmed with your other keys before installation or it wouldnt work because you would have a key buried with a different code ..inside the remote there is a key with a chip that could probably explain why everything still works

LoL, ok my dealer gave me a third key (2 fobs, 3 keys) for the command start, then when I went in to get them programmed, they told me its the fob that goes in the dash, not the keys so they didn't bother programming my new key. What a joke. Once I get the key programmed I am definately going somewhere else.

My wife came home with the car today, and I tried starting the car with the little key inside the fob in the car and the remote in the house and the car wouldn't start and then the alarm went off. Am I missing something here?

I just wanted to test it before I go to the dealer.

like i said mr.ben i dont do installation of these things the guy who did mine knows what he doing he does car toys for a living i could only provide you with the proof it could be done cause i have it on my car now if we were close[where are you] i would give you the keys so you could play and see for yourself so i did the next best thing i did the little demos so you could see ...i would say yes you are missing something the key goes into a computer module in the dash behind steering wheel the chip in the key completes the circuit then however its wired so the electronic components could speak and allows everything to work its not as simple as putting the key in the dash or just starting the car with the fob in the house this is why like i said before the logic of how our car works with the remote wont cant explain this matter and you need a professional installer to get it done you only going to confuse yourself...also remember all this technology catches up manufacturers are making the cars now with push button start and remote start its really nothing new they just release technology in pieces so they could suck money from the consumer...even our car has a place for this to be done its not like the guy made it up...and i already mentioned the suzuki dealer here is offering it when people buy ..i hope you understand

I do understand everything, I just assumed that if the RF chip was in the key and not the fob, you'd be able to start the car with just the key inside, and after everything you showed in those videos, I was kinda surprised when mine wouldn't start with just the key.

I know your right, not disputing that at all, your car remote starts with proof! haha But my issue is that between the dealership and the various installers I've visited, no one can make up their mind if the rf chip is in the key or the fob, the dealer says its the fob and refuses to program my third key (says it can't happen). I am too far away from you, or any other city with a Suzuki dealer to try, so I just wanted some concrete evidence (like being able to start my car with just the key) to show the dealer to make them program all three of my keys.

first of all no dealer should be telling you he not going to program a key you should be able to buy and program as many keys as you want the programming is not free .....as long as you the owner of the car...your dealer got some nerve...are you in the us....your car wouldnt start because it has to be done electronically and wired to have the communication between the car and remotes theres a computer module for starting the car behind the dash under the steering column area thats where the key goes..did you show your dealer the video like you said..im taking it personal lol cause i want you to get it if thats what you want and it can be done...

lookin, would you be able to find out the brand name of the bypass module that your installer used?

I've finally gotten this all sorted out with a reputable installer, but the last piece of the puzzle is the bypass module. They've tried three different companies that they deal with, and none of them list one for the Kizashi.

The installer explained it to me like this:

The RF is in the key itself, but it has little to no signal strength on its own, when you put it in the fob, it receives power from the battery in it and it boosts the signal.

I tried starting the car myself with just the key and the fob in the house and the car freaked out, the alarm went mental and I had to run inside to get the fob to get it to stop.

I also tried starting it with just the fob in my hand and the key in the house and the same thing happened.

That's odd. I can definitely start the car with just the fob, definitely not with just the key.
