Anything related to the Kizashi can go here, but please look at the other headings first. Your topic may fit better under something else.

It is a station wagon, which renders it invisible.
It has the Golf R 4WD system, and the dual-clutch 6-speed (ah, no more Jatco worries).
It also has an available ECU flash ($600) that bumps it to around 250HP with near 300lb-ft of torque. Aftermarket support is very strong, so up-rated brakes, engine mods, suspension bits, and wheels are abundant.
$25K vs the $40+ I'd been considering for a new Caddy, S3, or Golf R.
.
How about the new VW Golf Alltrack? It's basically like a lifted Golf Sportwagen with AWD. You can get them manual or DCT with the turbo engine. It's basically like the more fun-to-drive cross between a Subaru Outback and Subaru Crosstrek, coming in between the two in size. However, instead of anemic NA engines mated to CVTs, VW is offering a turbo and transmissions with gears.

I really dig the S3 too, but it's expensive and is mechanically the same as the cheaper and more practical Golf R... which still isn't cheap. At least the Alltrack will be cheaper and have higher ground clearance.
That being said, good luck if you got used to Suzuki reliability and durability.

In a nutshell, that's my thoughts on all of this VW and GM talk.

The ALLhigh is simply a lifted Sportwagen, and the Sportwagen has sufficient height (even if slightly lowered, more than my Kizashi).

I would not expect the reliability or durability to be in any way similar to my Japanese experiences.
But I ain't scared....... 'cause I ain't gotta do nothin' yet.

Rumination:

Been thinking about tires.
The only thing that's supposed to touch the road while we drive is the tires.

My new cheap tires are quiet. Grip level is very high. When pushed hard on dry pavement they whisper their protest with the sweetest soprano note. When fed a rapid steering input they immediately accept the command, and respond as if directly connected to my steering wheel.
In the wet, pushing hard displays their progressive nature as they ever-so-slightly lose traction, and regain grip as I roll out a bit.

Philosophical question: great car with fer-crap tires, or fer-crap car with great tires; which is more entertaining?

I have a very good car with very good new tires; testing continues.

Before I left work last night I set the fronts to 40 PSI, and the rears to 38.

Tested :drive:

Didn't like the way the fronts felt, kinda loosy-goosy.
Gonna bump up the fronts to 42 again.......

Best of intentions vs lazy bastard:

I still ain't bumped the air pressure.
But I will.

That said, the tires are still exceeding expectations.
Gas mileage continues to suffer from my grip-based aggression.
Hovering in the 24--25MPG range.

Did I mention I replaced the mouse-torn air filter?

Meeces (and squirrels) are the debils under the hood!

How'd they get in there (and stay long enough) with all of the driving you do?

I park in my garage when I get home.
No door.

The car is warm, the mice move in, I drive away in the morning, and sometimes they escape in time (last K had a dead one in the airbox).

There is too much mud in the wheels to go past 115MPH; found out this morning
