Yes, I would do the first oil change early for the reasons above. There could be molding sand left from the casting, shavings, the assembly lube ... all kinds of things that you don't want in there for long.

1000 miles or so ... mine blasted up to 2000 miles in the blink of an eye, that's when I did it. I went with synthetic blend, as it's additive package is kind of a bridge between "regular" oil and synthetic. I will run it until the 7500 mile mark, and then go to 0W-30 synthetic. Be sure to run a good filter if you're going with these longer intervals. I went with NAPA Gold this time, usually they are Wix filters, but this one was Mahle (made in Austria). With, for most people, only 2 oil changes per year instead of 4, there's no reason to cheap out on them. Use the good stuff.

If you want to go blind on learning about oil and oil filters, www.bobistheoilguy.com - TONS of info there.

There are different schools of thought on this. Some say that the elevated levels of molybdenum from the assembly lube/factory fill oil help the engine to break-in properly. I personally belong to the ‘change it early’ crowd.

Honda on some of its cars advises against changing the factory fill oil before 5000 miles. Suzuki has no such warnings that I am aware of.

Mobil1 is fine. I use Quaker State synthetic in mine. Yes, 5W-30.

Typically change intervals should go hand in hand with driving habits and conditions. The more frequently you turn the engine on and off or are in heavy traffic situations I would change the synthetic every 5,ooo miles or same if the climate conditions tend to be more hot. In SW Florida it to me hotter with highher humity than other areas. I had my Kiz (SLS) for 9 months and have changed the oil twice. The first time was a real chore and learning curve. I am currently getting 30.1 miles per gallon in urban traffic back and forth to work with the AC off. When the AC is on I have been getting 28.2 miles per gallon. I have had any maintanence issues other than the pulley recall. Great ride and loads of fun.

my suzuki dealer told me not to use synthetic oil before 5000km. the oil change interval depends on how you use your car. if your job requires short stops or going through slow traffics, then change it more frequently.

0W30...sounds like are you're using the vaunted "green" German Castrol Syntec (aka SLX Longlife) popular in BITOG, I got a stash of these (among other synthetics)...

Well,, in this regard, he makes a lot of sense how 0w30 will come to the right viscosity quicker than 5w30 or 10w30. Might not be as big a problem down here in hot Houston though
